You want to know mine and Heather’s new favorite thing!? Eating breakfast at new places on Saturday mornings! There are many places we have always said we wanted to try for breakfast and we recently decided to make that happen. Our first stop, Foster's Market in Durham. I have had lunch there in the past but Heather had never been. We got up early and headed there to give it a try. When we walked in, we were over taken by the smell of breakfast goodness. Heather ordered the Grits Bowl - House Specialty which has stone ground yellow cheddar grits topped with two fried eggs, black beans, and salsa. She added Chicken Sausage. I ordered the Farm Plate which included two scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, avocado, herb cheddar biscuit, fresh fruit wedges and home-fries. While we waited for our meal to be prepared, we were side tracked by the enormous selection of homemade baked goods. We ordered a raspberry-coconut scone to go with our coffee. They have lots of seating inside but there is plenty of wonderful seating outside. We found a cozy spot on the outdoor patio and enjoyed our delicious breakfast. We managed not to get hungry again until dinner time! We were impressed to know that the owner, Sara Foster, has written many cookbooks (one pictured above). We found the cookbooks in the large market area which has lots of food items and candies you can buy to take home. As we make our rounds to different breakfast spots around the Triangle, we can't wait to make our way back to Foster's!
