Happy New Year Everyone! Heather and I are ready to tackle 2018 and see what the year has in store for us! We have two Raleigh restaurants that we would like to suggest that are quick, yummy, and healthy!
On one of those abnormally warm winter days, we were ready to get out of the house to enjoy the glimpse of Spring! We decided to grab lunch and go to Fletcher Park to eat on the park’s picnic tables. We wanted to eat something healthy as we knew we ate more than our fair share over the holidays. We went to what became one of my favorite places while I was in school at NC State- Neomonde, a locally owned Mediterranean restaurant. You order as you walk in, get it to go, or get a number and sit down and they will bring your food. The food is always fresh, delicious, and healthy. We love to get the "Pick 4" option and pick from the many salads, meats, and sides. They also give you homemade pita bread to go with your plate. It is always a rejuvenating meal! If you get a chance to go, stop by! They also have a wonderful bakery/shop attached to the restaurant where you can get Mediterranean goods to take home.
Another place we discovered thanks to ‘Offline Raleigh’ (check out their app for fun, unique things to do in the Triangle) is Poke Go, which is a new spot on Creedmoor Road. It is basically like a "Moes" but for Poke bowls. You walk in to order at the counter and pick your grain, protein, sauces, and toppings. They have specialty dishes that you can choose from as well. We were blown away! It was a wonderful treat for lunch on a cold, winter day! Heather got the Pho Noodle Bowl, which was rice noodles in a beef broth topped with chicken, cilantro, onions, beansprouts, & lime. She raved about it. She did let me try a bite and it was fantastic! I got the "Poke Go Your Way" which is where you get to pick what you want. I got steamed rice, Tuna, Salmon, red onions, jalapeno, edamame, cilantro, spicy sauce, seaweed salad, cucumber kimchi, mango and topped with crunchy wonton strips. I will tell you that I am glad that this place is close to my office because I will definitely be back very soon and Heather said that she would love to come back! Everything was cooked to our liking and we enjoyed how quickly the food is prepared.
Again, both of these places are great places to grab a quick, healthy bite as you may be trying (like us) to start the year off on the healthy foot! We are looking forward to bringing you more food blog entries as we try new restaurants during 2018!
