Poke Burri

September 17, 2018

Heather and I don't get to eat lunch together often but when we do, of course we like to try a new place!  Poke Burri in Raleigh came on our radar from a few advertisements that we have been seeing around and we figured we would give it a try.  Thankfully we did!  It's a very cool concept where sushi is the size of burritos!  A dream come true.  Heather ordered the Crabbirrito which was a sushi burrito filled with crab salad, lettuce, cabbage, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce, spicy mayo and topped with tempura flakes. I got a Poke bowl with fresh salmon, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, cucumber, avocado, edamame, beets, radish, sprouts, seaweed, eel sauce, spicy mayo and pickled ginger.  Heather also ordered a house side salad with their ginger dressing that we shared. While everything was excellent and had extremely fresh ingredients, our favorite item was the sushi donut!  It's in the top right of our picture.  Essentially, it's sushi rice that is formed into the shape of a donut and topped with the ingredients that are usually found inside a sushi roll.  At Poke Burri, you can pick which items you want on your donut.  We picked the spicy tuna.  The next time we are in the area, we will be stopping again for a meal and certainly a sushi donut!
